“Texture and Formation”
The exhibition took part in the opening of the Annual Poets’ Festival in the art gallery “Beit Shalom” Metula, June 2014
Embroidery )in Hebrew; Rikma) – from the root RKM – the Hebrew words for embroidery, tissue, texture and formation – bring to mind artistic contexts: Handicrafts (sewing of shapes and ornaments in colored threads, in various thicknesses, on fabric, with additional materials, beads, objects or precious stones) planning, thought, fabric (social, cultural, linguistic) – and body (animal or plant). The four works in this series are a celebration of nature; of falling leaves, cherry blossom and the flowering of nectarines in Metula, and an endless field of flowers at the foot of Mount Hermon. Here, too, as in other pieces, the experience of the piece for the viewer is in remote and close observation, in carpets and inlays, spinning yarns, prints and color that coalesce into a texture of unique material and form.
